Why is this announcement undesirable? Why wouldn't a blind user want to know that a new window appeard on his/her screen?

If a top-level window is created (gtk_window_new(GTK_WINDOW_TOPLEVEL)), gnopernicus announces it as "Create Window". Is there any way to stop gnopernicus from doing so? I tried setting the window's role as ATK_ROLE_UNKNOWN and ATK_ROLE_INVALID, but gnopernicus still announced its creation in the same way.
