I think the basic issue is that while AccessibleTable was designed with row & column spanning in mind, we are diverging from some of these APIs in the gecko implementation, as worked out by Willie & a Aaron and a bunch of other folks. So... I'm not quite sure where this stands; whether this is part of the divergence or not.
