Problem with this is that the second library at the moment is gnome specific. It enforces the need for gconf. Because gconf is the only thing that knows what the default http uri handler is. When running gtk in a kde environment. Where no gconf is present. The kde (gconf counterpart) is the one who knows which app handles the http uri. So we need a way to get this kind of information without being Desktop environment depended. A solution also would be to have gnome and kde store the http uri handler name on the same place.
