Uh.. yes, it did. Syslog messages follow. But why would this only occur when emptying nautilus's trashcan ? Apart from that precise situation, this disk pounds away 24x7 with no problems. ?? I tested this with several gigabytes of soft-deletes from /dev/hde5 using konqueror, then deleted them from trashcan all in one hit - no problems. thanks. Rod
