I'm looking to develop some gtk-based sysadmin apps, and I'm not sure
whether to use glade & c or perl-gtk. The borderline between scripting
and compiling seems to have disappeared with ultrafast cpus (instant
script interpretingc) and some glade-based c apps actually storei much
of their gui stuff as runtime-interpreted anyway - I can see that
data-crunching programs should still be optised & compiled, but
screens ?
To me both offer rad development cycles and portability. Mandrake have
gone with perl-gtk for its sysadmin utils - so I suppose I'm asking,
what does c & gtk offer for guis that gtk-perl can't ? If somebody can
point me to doc or articles on this I'll RTFM.
Thanks
Rod
