These are both fine.
I would do the following to improve them:
Fish applet, Introduction:
'The Fish applet displays an animated image in a
panel.'
Add a mention of why the fish is useful or desirable,
eg:
'The Fish applet displays an animated image in a
panel. Clicking the image displays a new fortune
cookie message.'
Clock Applet, Usage, needs a section that explains
clicking on the clock to obtain a calendar.
