Hi Phil, > I ported some of the HIG 3 material you have on the wiki [1] to Mallard > [2] and committed it to gnome-devel-docs [3]. Whoa, this is cool. Thanks a lot! We're still in the process of figuring out what the next generation HIG should look like. We made some good progress with that not long ago, though there hasn't been any action for a little while. Personally speaking, I've been preoccupied with other 3.0 related stuff. I'm sure we will get back on track, but I'm not sure when that will be. How the new HIG will be encoded and distributed is a question that hasn't been fully answered yet, afaik. There are a few issues that need to be discussed there: * Possibilities for comments and discussion * Making it a dynamic resource - we'd like people to be able to add experimental patterns and for experimental patterns to evolve into stable ones * Integration into GNOME dev tools * Web hosting and integration with web-based dev docs > On a related note, Shaun McCance and I are at the hackfest in Berlin > this week. We're hoping to make some decisions about terminology > tomorrow; we'll keep you informed. Do let us know if there's anything > else we can do to help out with HIG development. If you or Shaun have any ideas on this, it would be great to hear them. There's a brief account of the aims for the new HIG on the planning page [1] and which might help.
