Adding fake hardware to be able to take screenshots

I am trying to take localized screenshots but some programs require 
things like a webcam and a screen etc. for me to take the screenshots.

Are there some way i can add fake hardware?
Like adding a scanner so the program can see it but without have a 
physical device.
