All (?) PO and POT files for gnome-applets-locations are broken on l10n-status.gnome-org it seems. I don't know the exact reason, but apparently, the POT files provided on the website are not in UTF-8 but in ISO-8859-1/15/something (while their headers claim the file is in UTF-8).
http://l10n-status.gnome.org/gnome-2.14/PO/gnome-applets-locations.HEAD.pot (The first offending thing seems to be Chambéry). This results in weird behavior in msgmerge, which has resulted in breaking all (?) non-ASCII PO files also. I am investigating this, but would someone who knows more about intltool and stuff take a look?
