Hi Christophe, Thank you for confirming that this was indeed your resignation.

We've had a lot of outside input from French translators and users complaining about bad state of the French team, and we've had a lot of discussion on this matter. And many of the people involved in discussions have been people I fully trust. It may have been a bad call (on my side) to jump into this right now, but it was already my fault for not acting earlier. >> If noone steps forward in the next couple of weeks, Benoît will stay >> French coordinator until changed through our regular procedure :) > > You do not need to designate the coordinator. It should be clear that your contributions to GNOME are highly appreciated, and you did a great work for both GNOME French and GNOME itself during the past years! But, unfortunately, since even before GUADEC, we (both Christian "menthos" Rose and I) started receiving complaints about bad state of the French team. We fully understand it was partly due to your health issues, and we hoped the situation would clear up on its own in the French team (which didn't actually happen), thus we took no immediate action. In an effort to finally resolve all the issues, I took the liberty of proposing Benoit as the new coordinator. Since I have full respect for you and your tremendous contributions to GNOME, I'll change my mind, but I'll still leave only until the year's end for the new coordinator assignment from you, taking into account advice from Benoit as well. So, this is my final proposal: if you, as the still current Gnome French translation team coordinator, don't come up with the replacement until 23:59UTC December 31st, 2006, Benoit is to be considered a new French team coordinator. Before accepting any proposal from you, I'll personally consult several outstanding French Gnome contributors. This is not to interfere with any system you have for choosing another coordinator inside French team. Benoit has suggested himself to step down if French team comes up with a good substitute, so the only difference is that I won't require your confirmation for coordinator change in 2007, but Benoit's.
