Hallo everybody I am forwarding the announcement of the first release of the Translate Toolkit with the gconf quality test in pofilter. I know some of you have already run it successfully directly from SVN, but perhaps this makes it easier for some of you. Of course, you should also have a look at other tests which can be very useful in review.
Obviously, if anybody has any feedback on this release candidate, please let us know as soon as possible. Unless something serious comes up, we might already release tomorrow. A basic way to run pofilter for a GNOME translation, is something like this: pofilter --language=xx --gnome file.po results.po where 'xx' is your language code, 'file.po' is the file you are testing for errors, and with the results being written to 'results.po'. Read more about the Translate Toolkit here: http://translate.sourceforge.net/wiki/toolkit/index The rest of the announcement follows. Keep well Friedel -------- Aangestuurde boodskap -------- Onderwerp: [Translate-devel] Translate Toolkit 1.3 release candidate 1 Datum: Mon, 02 Feb 2009 17:07:45 +0200 Hallo everybody We are ready to release Translate Toolkit 1.3 to the world. I built a release candidate for testing. The tarball is available here: http://translate.sourceforge.net/snapshots/ Let me know if you are interested in other packaged forms. This release contains some of these improvements: * Speed improvements for almost all file formats * New converters * tiki2po for tikiwiki articles [Wil Clouser, Mozilla] * symb2po for Symbian translation files * ini2po can now translate Innosetup files * Several improvements related to the XLIFF workflow [Thanks to Andre Schnabel for reporting several bugs] * Improved format support for PHP and PO (including support for previous msgids) * Improvements to pofilter, among them a new test to test for the incorrect translation of gconf values (thanks Dwayne!) * Several --duplicatestyle options were removed as advertised earlier and many other improvements, cleanups and bugfixes. This version also includes a new Translation Memory server that is used by Virtaal, and soon, hopefully more tools like Pootle. Please give it a test, and let us know how your testing goes. Unless something serious comes up, I believe we can release this tomorrow.
