Beware, at first you may get a file with *all* existing strings in > the project - what you really want is a selection of short definitions > and words that are of help for translators. The TranslateToolikt has a poterminology tool [1], which seems to do the same thing, except more automated. > To use the glossary with a CAT-application like Lokalize, you would > probably like to convert your glossary to a TBX-format (industry > standard glossary exchange format); This is exactly the use case I have > OT: But you may also ask yourself *why* glossaries should be based on > specific software-projects; for my (tiny) language, a coordinated effort > has been made to publish sector/discipline-based glossaries I would appreciate a glossary, that would be usable for other free software projects. It would be a bit weird to ask for glossary for Firefox on GNOME mailing list. A glossary can be bit too big, e.g. Microsoft glossary [2] is too big in my opinion, and since it is incomplete and we have divergence on some terms, maintaining that might be too costly, so I was looking around for options. Thanks, for the tips. -- Rūdolfs Mazurs [1] http://docs.translatehouse.org/projects/translate-toolkit/en/latest/commands/poterminology.html [2] https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/language/Terminology _______________________________________________ gnome-i18n mailing list gnome-i18n@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-i18n
