That's a gconf setting. You need to either use the GUI tool,
gconf-editor or gconftool-2 from a terminal.

Great Sven - that seems to have worked just fine. Handy little application that gconf-editor. I spent some time going through the various options, but couldn't find a way to automate xscreensaver or conky to be started at login. Is there a way to do this using gconf-editor or do I rely on the session-preferences to do that? If the latter, then I must be doing something quite wrong, because these two are not being started thus far.

Any thoughts?
