~/.xsession-errors is readable (cat'd), ~/.cache/gdm/session does not exist as I'm using lightdm on Ubuntu Precise. What permissions should gschemas.compiled have? Mine's read-only for non-root. Sudo'ing problems also doesn't get rid of the glitches.
