Running on openSUSE, in a qcow or qemu image, logging in to my user account from GDM gives me a blank GDM background screen (dark grey) with no visible controls (ie. the screen is simply repainted without the top bar and user list). If I blindly click in the top right corner I get the GDM suspend-reboot-shutdown menu but no other input option except ctrl-alt-f2.
Logging in as root gives me the desired gnome-shell experience (except that I'm logged in as root). I haven't tried a regular account recently on Fedora using the qemu image, but with the qcow image, the desktop for my user account works fully. Do I have the wrong permissions somewhere in my openSUSE setup?
