Hi all, I have been trying to update to GNOME shell and came across lot of libraries named girSomething . For e.g.
$ sudo aptitude install gir Display all 101 possibilities? (y or n) gir1.0-avahi-0.6 gir1.2-epiphany-2.29 gir1.0-babl-0.0 gir1.2-epiphany-2.31 gir1.0-buzztard-0.0 gir1.2-freedesktop gir1.0-champlain-0.4 gir1.2-gconf-2.0 gir1.0-clutter-1.0 gir1.2-gda-4.0 gir1.0-dbus-1.0 gir1.2-gdata-0.0 gir1.0-dbusmenu-glib-0.2 gir1.2-gdkpixbuf-2.0 gir1.0-dbusmenu-gtk-0.2 gir1.2-ges-0.10 gir1.0-desktopagnostic-1.0 gir1.2-gkbd-3.0 gir1.0-evince-2.30 gir1.2-glib-2.0 gir1.0-freedesktop gir1.2-gnomebluetooth-1.0 gir1.0-gda-4.0 gir1.2-gssdp-1.0 gir1.0-gdata-0.0 gir1.2-gst-plugins-base-0.10 gir1.0-glib-2.0 gir1.2-gstreamer-0.10 gir1.0-gmenu-2.0 gir1.2-gst-rtsp-server-0.10 gir1.0-gnomekeyring-2.0 gir1.2-gtk-2.0 gir1.0-goocanvas-0.10 gir1.2-gtk-3.0 gir1.0-gssdp-1.0 gir1.2-gtkchamplain-0.10 gir1.0-gst-plugins-base-0.10 gir1.2-gtkclutter-1.0 gir1.0-gstreamer-0.10 gir1.2-gtksource-3.0 I have been away for more than 6 months but its intriguing to me as that is a name I have not come across nor do I know what its supposed to mean. I do know that almost all library names have some meaning/significance . While the latter part of the names I'm familiar with since years (for e.g. can trace gstreamer for almost 10 years (have used or known about gstreamer for 6 + years personally alongwith all its tools) . Anyways the moot point being if somebody can point me to the right direction as to where I can find more about the name 'gir'. Please CC me if anybody knows and can reply about this. -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal शिरीष अग्रवाल My quotes in this email licensed under CC 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com 065C 6D79 A68C E7EA 52B3 8D70 950D 53FB 729A 8B17 _______________________________________________ gnome-shell-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-shell-list
