i do see how that works, hehe. One problem though with your logic here Adam... which is more important being able to use your applications or being able to look at a desktop/shell?? remember Apple back in the day(like 20-30yrs ago), great desktop no applications, same sort of thing. You could stare at your wonderful Apple computer, but what could you really do with it...? so how this all really works out is that gnome-Shell does not support applications that every other desktop runs just fine. any other argument to be made is completely irrelevent, and a simply a cop out or excuse.
