Hey everyone, this is my first post to this list.

I have a (hopefully quick) question about GNOME VFS and MIME-types. I
know that in GNOME 2.8, the old GNOME MIME system was scrapped in favour
of the FreeDesktop.org standard. Why is it, then, that GNOME VFS, as of
2.10.1, still requires gnome-mime-data as a dependency?

Can GNOME VFS not talk to the new system yet? Does it actually use the
data in @DATADIR@/application-registry and @DATADIR@/mime-types?

I'm a little confused. If someone could shed some light on this, that
would be great. Thanks.
