Actually, isn't this OK? I mean, the relative path should be escaped, so
it won't have any reserved characters.
For instance, this is what nautilus does in
nautilus_file_get_symbolic_link_target_uri():
file_uri = nautilus_file_get_uri (file);
escaped_name = gnome_vfs_escape_path_string
(file->details->info->symlink_name);
target = gnome_vfs_uri_make_full_from_relative
(file_uri, escaped_name);
g_free (file_uri);
g_free (escaped_name);
return target;
