I also posted to the guadec.org site but I better also post this here: What is the future of the guadec.org site? I guess it will rather not switch also to Plone till 2007?
I want to volunteer to help switch the content to GUADEC 2007. I also post a bug http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370738 for having a wiki wiki.guadec.org. MoinMoin makes it very easy to have many wikis with shared user data. I think GUADEC is an event that could use an own wiki with own categories and that it rather "polutes" the main wiki. I suggest we do this before preparations of GUADEC 2007 really begin. Linking between contents of both wikis could be easy (see bug). You can theoretically have up to 100 wikis in one config with shared user data. What is also nice is that you can have different plugins or react differently on problems with high load in one wiki, while the other has the normal configuration. And if GUADEC wiki is not online due to settings changes or maintance LGO will still be online (and the other way round). Theoretically I think it is a good way to have more than one wiki, because a big wiki tends to loose the focus and so many things are changing in RecentChanges that people who concentrate on one task are not able to follow the changes they are interested in. To the sceptics: True, lets not split the wiki in small pieces, this would also be bad. But I think every wiki has an optimal size. This is especially true for very differents teams and tasks in an organisation like GNOME.
