You should know that skype is a different world , the one where communication protocols are closed and kept secrets so you need the skype softphone to communicate with a skype user , dont waste anytime to write a plugin SIP or IAX is a good alternative anyway ..... if you still have friends on skype , tell them to use a SIP client such as firefly or ineen , they won t see the difference and will have voicemail for free....
