Hi Damien,
unfortunatly, the only error - or warning - messages I have got are :

Oct 30 15:59:00 localhost gconfd (root-28376): starting (version 2.10.0), pid
28376 user 'root'
Oct 30 15:59:00 localhost gconfd (root-28376): Resolved address
"xml:readonly:/usr/local/garnome/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory" to a read-only
configuration source at position 0
Oct 30 15:59:00 localhost gconfd (root-28376): Resolved address
"xml:readwrite:/root/.gconf" to a writable configuration source at position 1
Oct 30 15:59:00 localhost gconfd (root-28376): Resolved address
"xml:readonly:/usr/local/garnome/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults" to a read-only
configuration source at position 2

and
Oct 30 15:55:03 localhost gconfd (root-28326): starting (version 2.4.0.1), pid
28326 user 'root'
Oct 30 15:55:03 localhost gconfd (root-28326): Failed to get lock for daemon,
exiting: Failed to lock '/root/tmp/gconfd-root/lock/ior': probably another
process has the lock, or your operating system has NFS file locking
misconfigured (Resource temporarily unavailable)

And the popup but no console messages.

Does it help?
