With the version 1.X of skype NAT traversal is also excelent , But The Main problem IS : " SKype protocol is closed " , so nobody wants to use skype ..... if your are on windows , Google Talk would fit your needs and you are not locked in... But I guessed you want video ?and reserved to
Windows users. Even MSN (video or simply 'webcam') doesn't work.)
