Hmmm... I did some tests (finally) :
1) it didn't crash (yet ? ;-) ) ;
2) the colors were awful (obviously a permutation of RGB occurred
somewhere ;-) ) ;
3) I had to remove all 1394 modules from my kernel and put back ohci1394
and raw1394 to make use of it regularly : visibly there is a high
instability of those drivers :-(
I would rate the experience as "not as negative as I feared".
