Locrian mode? There is no locrian mode. There
never was a locrian mode. The name was
invented by some pedant well after the
old modal system was on its way out. It
is obviously impossible to establish B (H)
as a tonality if you're playing F's. It's
like the "grand staff". If your talking
about ordinary piano score, fine. But
a single staff of eleven lines never
achieved any popularity. Why would
anyone think it a good idea now?
Keyboard music was originally written
in tablature. Do you want to support
that? Isn't it enough to support practices
that really exist or once existed? Most
things that are obsolete deserve to be
so, like lengthening stems to the center
of the staff. :-)
