Yes, I notice that too. When I tried to build 1.3.127, it stopped at the
same spot (i.e. make using the implicit rule rather than following your
override). I then tried playing with the GNUmakefiles and the rules a bit
(e.g. commenting or uncommenting your "$(outdir)/%.info: $(outdir)/%.texi"
rule), and then after a while, make miraculously work perfectly again,
i.e. the override works again.
I don't know if it is a bug in make, or some problem on my computer (I'm
experiencing random crashes with my Siemens-Fujitsu thin-client), or some
other things... I didn't experience the problem in 1.3.127 any more, and
I didn't think I ran into it with 1.3.128. What I did run into was
segfaults during the Postscript doc build, but that's likely due to
problem with my thinclient-turned-PC. I still can't figure out whether it
is software problem (bugs in kernel_2.4.1-ac1) or some hardware problem.
I do have a question though. How come you put in
chmod -w lilypond.texi
or
chmod -w lilypond.nexi ?
Cheers,
Anthony
