Should we change the name of the "unstable" branch to "develop"?
Why? .. because it seems many others do it that way, and it's documented. http://nvie.com/posts/a-successful-git-branching-model/ Gnucap has done it essentially the way described there since moving to git. (and less formally that way before under RCS).
