It doesn't do Mac newline conventions, no.  It's on my list to fix,
but it's documented that you need to make the conversion to Unix or
DOS text format.

That's a fine idea.  The only problem is that importing the QIF is a
fairly user-intensive process.. you have to pay attention and enter
some information.  I don't know if a simple script-driven process can
make this work.  I guess there's a couple of "testing frameworks" that
can set up GUI-scripted test sequences but I've never used them; any
thoughts?
