Ok, here's a pain inducer:

Ever since some changes in the use of libtool a few months ago, I've been
getting lots of:

libtool: link: warning:
`/usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/4.0.1/../../..//libguile.la' seems to be moved
libtool: link: warning:
`/usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/4.0.1/../../..//libguile-ltdl.la' seems to be
moved
libtool: link: warning:
`/usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/4.0.1/../../..//libqthreads.la' seems to be
moved
libtool: link: warning:
`/usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/4.0.1/../../..//libpopt.la' seems to be moved

These are apparently harmless, but still make the build take about
twice as long. Seeing as building is something we want developers to
do often, maybe we can make this a little less painful.

Is anyone (other than David) working on this and/or know something
about this?
