I can't find the format file `etex.fmt'!

/usr/bin/texi2dvi: texinfo.tex appears to be broken, quitting.
Your texinfo and/or tetex installation seems to have a problem. These
distcheck errors haven't been reported in the near past. Seems to me a
local problem at your machine?
$ find /usr/share/tex* -name tcfmgr.map
/usr/share/texmf/texconfig/tcfmgr.map
$ find /usr/share/tex* -name fmtutil.cnf
/usr/share/texmf/web2c/fmtutil.cnf
$ rpm -qf /usr/share/texmf/texconfig/tcfmgr.map
/usr/share/texmf/web2c/fmtutil.cnf
tetex-3.0-13
tetex-3.0-13
I'd propose that we still go for it, today.
