OK, let me just explain a bit about this:

This proposal is framed as an "either or" choice when what is needed is a
sharing approach.

I made a request for this which backfired - the infamous QOF external
discussions - but the thrust of that discussion has been lost. All I ever
wanted was a little consideration that if I've announced an imminent release
it is sensible to let me know about pending changes that are out of tree; if
someone is working on a problem in libqof, let me know and just check if
there are constraints that would break other programs. All done in an
atmosphere of sharing, cooperation, goodwill and for the general improvement
of all related code.

I do value the contributions of all gnucash developers and their assistance -
such assistance has helped me see how to fix _global just today - I don't
want to lose all that unless absolutely essential to my sanity.
:-)

I just want to get back to G2, that's all.

All this is just an unnecessary distraction. Let's decide once G2 is out. I'll
take any burden from postponing the decision until then.
