Well, we've never provided that information in the past, so frankly I
see very little reason to bend over backwards to provide it now.  Considering
we don't even follow the so-called "GNU Coding Standards" for anything
else, I frankly can't say that I care much.  If developers care to
put that level of information in their log messages they're welcome
to do so, but it's not something we test for or enforce as part of
the source code control process.

A word to the wise...  Just because you're given an inch, please don't
attempt to take a mile.  You'll just piss everyone off.
