I don't recall which one came before the other.

Finance::Quote fields Gnucash uses:
    symbol: AAPL                 <=== required
      date: 00/00/2000           <=== required
  currency: USD                  <=== required
      last: 151.68               <=\
       nav:                      <=== one of these
     price: 151.68               <=/
  timezone:                      <=== optional

Whatever Gnucash/F::Q has chosen (I assume yahoo.com)

Not knowingly. ;)

bash-3.2$ gnucash
gnc.bin-Message: main: binreloc relocation support was disabled at configure
time.

Found Finance::Quote version 1.13

I'm pretty sure that the Get Quotes button would be greyed out if F::Q weren't
found to be working. This hourglass business is new to me.
