No. There's no problem. I just want the wiki page to reflect what actual practice is. I wasn't thinking that the accounts would be removed.

The ONLY user data migrated were email address and full name. The user account passwords were NOT migrated because password data is not accessible (which is a GOOD THING). So all those accounts are, technically, in a dormant state. If those users would like to access them then they will need to perform a password reset on the account. Removing accounts is... challenging. The database requires them to remain in order to maintain proper history. Is there a problem with keeping the accounts around? -derek On Tue, February 5, 2019 10:45 am, David T. via gnucash-devel wrote: > This message is probably directed to Derek… > > In the course of editing the wiki on the subject of Bugzilla accounts, the > question arose as to how many gnome.bugzilla.org > <http://gnome.bugzilla.org/> accounts had been ported over to > bugs.gnucash.org <http://bugs.gnucash.org/> and remained in dormant > status—and if there are still many of these, have the powers that manage > these issues made any kind of determination on how these accounts will be > handled now, should the account holder seek access again? > > It would seem to me that after a certain period of time, any accounts that > remained unaccessed should be considered unused, and the account disabled. > The user would then have to register from start again as if they were new > users.
