URI means Uniform Resource Identifier, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uniform_Resource_Identifier <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uniform_Resource_Identifier>. It's a more general term than URL, or Uniform Resource Locator.
