No, they are not. The Scheduled Transactions and their Frequency Specifications are serialized into an ad-hoc format similar to the other elements in the GnuCash XML format. An enterprising individual could write a stylesheet to transform the gnucash file format [or the relevant subset] into iCal format... but I guess they'd have to solve certain problems [http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88078] first... and the way that iCal seems to specify recurrances is different than Ben Stanley's cool FreqSpec code, so that would have to be bridged. WRT integration with other Gnome/Linux desktop apps [Evo integration was mentioned a few times a while ago], I don't think there's much developer support for that ATM.
