This vaguely rings a bell as an hpux issue that libtool couldn't work around. I don't think its a gnucash issue at all. I'm not sure what to suggest other than skipping the 'make' step and going straight to 'make install'. IIRC, in the former command libtool tries to set up the application so it can be run from the source directory, thus relative run-paths. In the latter, libtool links the libs for their ultimate destination in the file system using absolute run paths. David
