I've never used SUSE, but here is my shot at the problem. > (German-speaking) user starts gnucash 1.8.0 on SuSe 8.2 and gets the > following error messages: > > * Missing charsets in fontset creation > (...) > Fatal Error: gnucash_style_set_register...():Cannot load fallback > font:- -adobe- helvetia-medium-o-normal--*-120-*-*-* >
One thing is obvious from the error message: The font specification is wrong. There is no helvetia font, it must be helvetica and should look more like something like this (out of my head): -adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*-*-*-* It looks like the font definition was written manually, so the user probably knows where he has added it. He says that this happens when he starts GnuCash from KDE, so it would be best to look for the gtkrc file that KDE calls when starting gtk applications. I have hardly any experience with KDE or SUSE, but I think an experienced KDE and SUSE user will know.
