HEAD should have the gh_ interfaces replaced with the scm_ interfaces,
except for a few gh_ routines which have no scm_ equivalents. David
Hampton applied that patch LONG ago. Actually, I think even 1.8 might
have that change.
It hasn't changed anything w.r.t. guile bugs, afaik. (Linas, to which
guile bugs are you referring?)
