But this exact thing is the reason why a lot of M$ stuff is so unstable
- without any kind of dependancy tree in the OS you are free to chop and
change the libraries and software all you want - great for the user,
right up to the point where windows can't run for more than an hour
without randomly crashing and you have to reinstall your OS from
scratch.
The dependancies are there because they need to be there - they're a
pain in the butt, yes - but *way* less of a pain than software that
crashes for no apparent reason.
