Hello, It's a bit of a heavy-handed workaround, but you could install Guix, a functional package manager that sports transactional and roll-back updates. I'm using Guix(SD) myself and the packaged GnuCash version works fine. The nice thing about Guix is that it should be independent from your system libraries, so it should work independently from it.
