Peter If you open the Asset register in auto split register ( View->Autosplit register), select the transaction and then right click on the split to the Orphan AUD account you will get a popup menu one of the entries of which is Delete Split. If the split to Orphan AUD was the only split other than the split to the Asset account you may need to provide a target account for the second split of the transaction. There is no need to repeat the process of deleting the split in the Orphan AUD account after deleting it from the Asset register. GnuCash creates the splits to the Orphan AUD account whenever you create an unbalanced transaction i.e. one in which the sum of the debit and credit entries is not equal to zero.
