I have just upgraded from Ubuntu 16.04 to 18.04.

In 16.04 I used Gnucash 2.6.12 and F:Q 1.49 . Note F:Q 1.49 was not packaged
with 16.04.

In 18.04 I have Gnucash 2.6.19

I uploaded stock prices in gnucash and noticed the prices for British stocks
were overstated by a factor of 100 . Confusion between GBX -pennies and GBP
-pounds.

Running gnc-fq-check showed that I now had FQ 1.47. I know the GBX/GBP bug had
been in and out of earlier versions of FQ and 1.47 appears to have the bug.

I then wished to install the latest version of FQ. The command “gnc-fq-update “
is not included in Ubuntu 16.04 or 18.04. So I searched the internet for an
alternative command. I found “cpanm Finance::Quote “ and ran it . Note by
mistake I did not run as sudo , I don’t know whether that matters .

The last lines of the log read:

…................

“ Building and testing Finance-Quote-1.51 ... OK

Successfully installed Finance-Quote-1.51 (upgraded from 1.47)

84 distributions installed “

but gnc-fq-check still shows 1.47 and the GBX/GBP bug still exists.

After some digging I find that :

FQ 1.49 files appear to be in usr/local/share/perl/5.22.1/Finance/Quote

FQ 1.47 files appear to be in usr/share/perl5/Finance/Quote

FQ 1.51 files appear to be in home/perl5/lib/perl5/Finance/Quote

Have I installed 1.51 correctly , if not how do I install it and get it working
?

I have the terminal logs .
