Following on from https://lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/gnucash-user/2023-January/105287.html to clear up a few misconceptions.
I have enough experience with PortableApps to have packaged an app. It just repackages distributions so, like GnuCash, there is no reason for it to contain any source code except the scm files for reports. As for support, the start of the paths has changed to work in different folders. In the unlikely case there are packaging problems (it has been in use for 20 years) you could view the configuration files yourself but more likely approach the PortableApps community for support. Otherwise, it is standard GnuCash. https://portableapps.com/apps/office/gnucash_portable shows the version is current. Under the green button: Version 4.13 for Windows, Multilingual. If you click details Date Updated: 2022-12-24, 5 days after it was released: https://github.com/Gnucash/gnucash/releases/tag/4.13 It is easy to run: * After downloading and running the installation it will ask for a Destination Folder, defaulting to D:\PortableApps\GnuCashPortable * Double-click GnuCashPortable.exe to run it without launching it through the PortableApps interface. There are no fees but donations are accepted. The first button links to the GnuCash donation page, and the second button is to Support PortableApps.com's development and hosting. > _______________________________________________ gnucash-user mailing list gnucash-user@gnucash.org To update your subscription preferences or to unsubscribe: https://lists.gnucash.org/mailman/listinfo/gnucash-user ----- Please remember to CC this list on all your replies.
