Brenda, Are you using Quicken or QuickBooks? The Quicken file import used by Gnucash is QFX, not QIF? I don't know anything about the format of the import file, but I did a quick download of a QFX file and the layout looks very different. I hesitated to respond, because I don't know much about how it works, I just know it works fine for me and the only difference was QIF vs QFX. Gnucash will also import OFX and CSV files if you want to try a different format. I didn't see any responses to your question, so I decided to offer what little help I could.
