Good: you posted your operating system (Linux Mint). But you didn't post the version of the OS, nor what version of GnuCash you are using.
I find it a little hard to understand you; you say that you are trying to get stock quotes working, but then you said that you can "get the stock every Friday or Saturday". I have Linux, but I don't run Mint; I run Ubuntu. There is a command to install the perl program that retrieves stock quotes, but if you are getting quotes currently, then you have it installed. If your TSLA holdings are not updating, then perhaps you don't have the box checked to tell it to update the price. I've run into too many problems with the stock quotes, so I don't currently use them (I have used them one in a while in the past). Best wishes to you in your quest.
