You can import prices as an option on the File->Import menu. It is relatively easy (for example) to create a spreadsheet in Google which has live price lookups, which can then be used to import prices into GnuCash.
I don't know whether other spreadsheet apps have the same price lookup functions or not. I agree with David C., though. It seems like a lot of work for a minor gain in storage. Perhaps you could explain why you want this? David T.
