Hello all,

A few releases ago a simple counter was added to Finance::Quote (it can be disabled by setting environment variable FQ_NOCOUNT). The results are available at https://panix.com/~hd-fxsts/webalizer/ .

I was somewhat surprised that 'consorsbank' is clearly the most utilized source method. What is more concerning is the number of fetches from a few individual IP addresses.

50k queries per month using the same method is over 1500 per day. My concern is that this is the behavior that the can trigger website owners to make scraping security pricing by web scraping more difficult. Looking at the weblogs, I suspect it isn't a GnuCash user as the queries to Consorsbank from these 1 or 2 IPs is 24/7 and not end of trading day price fetches.
