Hello Stephen Welcome to GNUCash. I am a Linux user and a GNUCash user for one organisation but not so for another - mainly because of the use of Quickbooks by that organisation for many years. For that organisation, I run Quickbooks in a Virtual Machine (I use Oracle Virtualbox) which runs Windows. I do not allow that VM to connect to the internet, so there is no updating of WIndows or Quickbooks. This system works well but I have been actively encouraging the organisation (which is a small not-for-profit) to switch to GNUCash with a new financial year - and it appears they will do so. Perhaps this might be a way for you to ease your migration to both Linux and GNUCash? Cheers Hop

Being a small business, I've always used Quickbooks accounts software. But with the change to Linux, Gnu Cash does not allow QBB files being imported. One optio n was to install Quickbooks using Wine but no luck, I even asked a guy who is an expert on computers but he's unable to resolve this. I am stuck as to how can this be done with 20 years of records in Quickbooks and whether Gnu Cash can be used or not. For now, I am still using Quickbooks on on e laptop with Windows, and I need to complete the transition to the second lapto p with Linux so that I can stop using Windows from October. Hope someone can guide me. Regards Stephen Gilligan Thinking of travelling somewhere?
