BSD (and so macOS) has been issuing that warning for years. The supposed danger 
is a bit hypothetical, that some other process might be using the same 
temporary file name and so might corrupt the data. Neither of the alternatives 
is a drop-in; in fact they’re sufficiently different that it would take a 
redesign of the file-compression feature on the XML backend to use one of them.
